Who this policy is from

This site (danieljohnson.xyz) is operated by Daniel Johnson, a sole trader based in UK-based, currently in Asia. Serving US, UK, Europe, and APAC clients with US-friendly overlap.. For questions about this policy or your data, email daniel@wescalestartups.com.

What we collect

This site collects the minimum personal data needed to run it. Specifically:

• Analytics – anonymised page visit data via Google Tag Manager (Google Analytics 4, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity). This includes approximate location, device type, browser, referring source, and interaction events. IP addresses are anonymised where supported.
• Email – if you email us or submit your email on a linked form, that address is stored to reply and (if you opt in) to send occasional notes via MailerLite.
• Booking calls – booking a call via Calendly is governed by Calendly's privacy policy in addition to this one.

Cookies

This site uses cookies and similar storage for analytics and session state. Essential cookies run by default. Non-essential analytics cookies (GA4, Hotjar, Clarity) fire via Google Tag Manager. You can block all non-essential cookies in your browser settings, or via browser-level tracking protection.

How we use your data

• To understand which pages and topics are useful, so the site improves over time.
• To reply to emails and advisory enquiries.
• To send, only with your explicit opt-in, occasional notes on growth systems and positioning.

We do not sell personal data.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal data. You can also withdraw consent for anything you previously opted in to. Email daniel@wescalestartups.com to do any of these. You also have the right to complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).

Retention

Enquiry emails are kept until no longer needed. Newsletter subscribers are kept until they unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained per the third-party provider's defaults (GA4 defaults to 14 months).

Changes to this policy

If this policy is materially updated, the “last updated” date above will change. For substantive changes, we will note it on the homepage for a short period.
